Terms of service
Last updated 21 October 2026
These terms apply when you use Tinker Lab, run by to be added (to be added). By creating an account you agree to them. If you use Tinker Lab for a school, you agree on behalf of the school.
Your account
- Give accurate details and keep your password private. You are responsible for what happens on your account.
- Each account is for one person. Do not share accounts or school codes outside your school or class.
- If you are under 13, or under the age of digital consent where you live, use Tinker Lab through your school or with a parent's or guardian's permission.
Plans and payment
- Free gives one lab per subject, for as long as you like.
- Personal ($9 a month or $79 a year) is for one student, parent or teacher. Prices are in US dollars; taxes may be added where the law requires.
- Personal renews automatically at the end of each month or year until you cancel. You can cancel any time; you keep access until the end of the period you have paid for.
- School & University plans are agreed with us directly: the number of students, the price, the length of the plan and how you pay (invoice or purchase order). The written offer or invoice we send you forms part of these terms.
- We may change prices for future periods. We will tell you before a change affects your next renewal.
Refunds
- If Personal is not right for you, email to be added within 14 days of your first payment and we will refund it in full. Refunds for School & University plans follow the offer we agreed with you.
- After that, payments are not refundable, but you can cancel so the plan does not renew.
- If something on our side stops you using the labs for a long time, contact us and we will put it right, including a refund where that is fair.
School codes and seats
School & University plans come with codes for students and teachers. The plan covers the number of students we agreed. Codes stop working when the plan ends or the seats are used up. Teachers can see the progress of students who joined with their code.
Acceptable use
Do not try to break into accounts or the database, copy or resell the labs, get around the plan limits, or use Tinker Lab to harm others. We may suspend accounts that do.
Our content
The labs, text, graphics and code belong to Tinker Lab. Your plan lets you use them for learning and teaching. Results you record in a lab are yours.
Availability and changes
We work to keep Tinker Lab running and accurate, but we cannot promise it will always be available or free of errors. We may improve, change or retire features; we will not remove what a paid plan includes during the period you have paid for.
Liability
Tinker Lab is provided for education. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect losses, and our total liability to you is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer law that cannot be limited.
Ending your account
You can stop using Tinker Lab at any time and ask us to delete your account. We may close accounts that break these terms.
